“Refractions” celebrates the 10th year anniversary of DisastersByChoice label’s activity. The Rome based label always fond of adventurous sounds, has decided to confront with itself and the world outside. During these years we met several musicians and producers, people with whom we have shared the same passions and found affinities. We’ve confronted with them driven by mutual esteem; we let to “reflect” in their artistic sensitiveness the greatest part of our catalogue. Chosen their favourite songs, these artists made reinterpretation and/or deconstruction of them; we also believe from confront and “deconstruction” new contents can rise. Not simply “remix”, a word now abused, which for us has lost a meaning of mutual exchange, confront and affinity. Among the author of these “refractions” we can find some of the most important names of the multiform world of electronic music (Murcof, Fibla, Isan, Alog, Flotel, Encre, TehoTeardo), and projects that in the past have contributed to our catalogue and will continue to do (Layer, Slow Motion, Melodium). “Refractions” is a journey to the (re)discover of a rich and varied catalogue, surely never expected, in company with great and valid guides.
